Europe�s Digital Education Vision

Europe�s Digital Agenda Commissioner Neelie Kroes has reiterated the European Commission�s commitment to ensuring that all Europeans are fully digital by 2013. Commissioner Kroes� speech at the opening plenary session of ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN set the tone for a conference which attracted 2154 participants from 96 countries to its programme of discussions about the latest trends in ICT and education. Going Global 2012 � Registration Now Open

Going Global 2012, the international education conference, will take place from March 13th - 15th, 2012 in London. Going Global 2012 is based on the idea that education has the ability to shape and connect the lives of people around the world. The conference will focus on three key themes: the future world, the connected world and its winners and losers. The registration for Going Global 2012 is now open. OEB2011: The Future of Workplace Learning

LEARNING TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION IN EUROPEAN BUSINESSES 2011, the Europe-wide study carried out by Towards Maturity in partnership with ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN, has found that a growing number of organisations are turning to new learning technologies to help them increase their business agility. The report will be discussed in detail at this year�s conference, which will explore what learning and development will look like in the future and how to prepare for success in these new cultures of learning through its Business EDUCA programme. Security & Defence Learning 2011: programme online

Security and Defence Learning 2011, the 7th International Forum on Technology-Assisted Learning and Training for Security, Defence and Emergency Services, will take place in conjunction with OEB on November 30. Security training experts, including two Generals, an Air Vice Marshal and a former defence minister who discovered the benefit of online learning during a spell in prison, will be the keynote speakers at this year�s �Security & Defence Learning� in Berlin. Expolingua Berlin 2011 was brought to a successful close

Expolingua Berlin, Germany�s international fair for languages and cultures, was brought to a successful end on Sunday, October 30th. During the three-day fair at the Russisches Haus der Wissenschaft und Kultur, a total of 13247 visitors got acquainted with the subject of language learning and teaching. 132 exhibitors from 26 countries presented their services, which included language schools from Germany and abroad, language travel agencies, exchange organisations, cultural institutes and publishing houses. The 10th LANGUAGES & BUSINESS conference revolves around the interaction of linguistic and intercultural skills as well as the latest trends and developments in communication training. EAIE exhibition achieved record numbers

The 23rd Annual European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference in Copenhagen took place from September 13 - 16, 2011. Over 4200 participants from 87 countries joined in for a week of networking, learning, and sharing of best practices, resulting in a truly dynamic knowledge exchange. ICWE organized the accompanying exhibition (September 14 - 16, 2011) with 192 stands on 2441,5 sqm � a stand-out success.more

Going Global 2012, the international education conference, will take place from March 13th - 15th, 2012 in London. Going Global 2012 is based on the idea that education has the ability to shape and connect the lives of people around the world. The conference will focus on three key themes: the future world, the connected world and its winners and losers. To add your perspective to the debate, you can submit a proposal by Friday 16 September 2011 at 17:00 BST. Proposals from around the world are welcome.

eLearning Africa 2011: An all-round success

A total of 1,702 participants from over 90 countries from Africa and beyond convened at the 6th eLearning Africa conference, the Continent�s leading event for ICT-supported education. Hosted this year by the Government of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam from May 25th � 27th, eLearning Africa demonstrated increasing investment in ICT and education throughout Africa. During the event, 322 speakers from 57 countries discussed and demonstrated best practices in 65 parallel sessions, presenting new ways of learning on the Continent and in other parts of the world.

StudyWorld 2011 concluded successfully

StudyWorld 2011, the international fair for higher and continuing education, came to a close on Saturday, May 21st. A total of 8,629 visitors gathered in Berlin’s Russian House of Science and Culture. Representatives from 175 universities and training providers from 25 countries presented their course offerings and services to the visitors. Exhibitors included universities, technical-training colleges from Germany and abroad, as well as academic-exchange agencies and internship-placement organisations.

'New Learning Cultures' will be the theme of the 17th ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN, as the world's leading conference and exhibition on technology-enhanced learning sets the agenda for an in-depth discussion of the most important questions facing education and training today. We look forward to receiving your suggestions and ideas for this year's conference. Proposal can be submitted for event formats such as workshops, seminars, presentations, discussions and debates, demonstrations, best practice showcases, Learning Caf�s, Learnshops, Lab Sessions and knowledge exchanges. The deadline for receipt of all proposals is June 1st, 2011.
